Straight from the mouth of "Fellow Pirate", in my apparent defense:

Forget that shit, Matt doesn't have a girl, (and no guys don't count in this situation) No girl wants a guy with no emotions, that's what prostitutes are for. Though that may sound like a good thing (Matt) it is not. If all you can go is for the certain and the solid stone than you'll sink like one in the rest of your relationships as they will not grow without trust. Dante is the shiz for saying how he feels and for people with less concept of things not concrete, let me say that Mr D did not say he was "in Love" he merely mentioned his feelings about how he felt. He mentioned certain aspects of his emotions and felt that it was defiantly a new stage in his life. When he states "...but there is some kind of love." he is referring to the many states of love. (oh any people with low comprehension levels i.e. Matt and "Matt"s alike, please skip the following as it will not be easy to grasp 'if at all') As I was saying he was describing a form of love or infatuation. a form of attraction, a form of emotion, a form of being. He did not say he was "in Love" he clearly states in his opening paragraph that there are many types of Love. Love for a parent, Love for a brother, a fellow mate, a fellow pirate. There are many different types of Love. Yes Love is a strong word. Yes Love means a lot to whatever the purpose for relationship it holds means. But we all have many Loves and all have many types of Loves. And who’s to say we do not Love our fellow friends? hm? could you not say you Love your best friend?... I know I can. Matt... (my Mattie) I Love You Pal, we may not have an undying lust for each other's body, but I still Love you buddy. In our friendship, our conversation, our appreciation for each other, our time together. we don't have many long walks on the beach, but I Love him all the same. And I feel our betrayed friend Dante knows this and feels this as well. I feel he knows D, maybe not as much as some, but more than most. And I feel he knows her well enough to Love her as a friend can. We change daily we all change, we adapt we learn. Dante has learned something, that we may not all be as forthcoming as we should. D... tell him what you really meant, what your really felt and this would not have happen. If we can just tell the truth the world would be a much kinder place... and I don't mean blatant rude truth like "yes that dress does make you look fat" I mean "I think a different dress would look better, but it has a nice floral pattern" state what was felt but do it in a fashion that compliments the subject, but still expresses the feelings felt. Honestly people it would reduce your soap opera lives of trendy music and friends that change quicker than your Tuesday fashions. Well I hope someone learned. I if I offended you, you probably deserved it.. oh "You deserved it, but at least your learning something"

PS... "... dumbfounded" is right. Slightly different connotation than appropriate but I think you found what you were looking for.

While I am keenly aware of my profuse amount of apologies, I'm glad someone understood what I was trying to say. Though I am a writer at heart, I often find that my words are misinterpreted and misused constantly, usually to ends that put me at a disadvantage. But if I can get one good response for every hundred, thousand, million "fuck you"s or misunderstandings, I guess that's good enough for me.

Now the implications of the posting of this comment (see the Comments sections, you'll see), is that I'll be instating a new writer. I feel that may be jumping the gun a bit in this case, though I do enjoy being involved in the proliferation of opinionated and upstanding writers. So maybe if we get a name and some more writing, I'll consider adding a new member to our team (if he/she is willing to, of course). Don't give me that look - we have writers here that haven't written in ages, or haven't written much more than a few paragraphs. Only time will tell, I guess.
