MUSIC!!!

I have an idea for a happy pill. I need a good song. Something epic like O Fortuna. its for a fight scene but im having trouble finding something. It doesn't have to be classical or an orchestra, it just has to be awesome. Doug, you might be the best help for something like this.

Thats pretty freakin close doug. its not quite right, and im not sure how to explain why, but it is very close. if you can find me more like that, that would be awesome. another point that i forgot to mention is that the song needs to be kinda long. something like 8 minutes would be probably be perfect, but um not sure if anything shorter than 5 will suffice. but yes, very very close.

This is kind of hard to explain, so if it doesn't make too much sense just forget that i said anything cause its not terribly important. If i could get something like O Fortuna but more beautiful that would be perfect. i need that intense epic sound but with more of a beautiful sound instead of an angry one. intense is the key word here. but don't think "fight scene" when your looking. just think epic, intense, and beautiful. and i understand that beautiful is a hard point to convey because most orchestra pieces are beautiful, that's why if this point is hard to grasp, forget it.

trans-siberian orchestras carol of the bells is another one that is really close. it has that slow build up and then that intense rocking, then it mellows some more and builds back up. the tempo needs to peak and fall i guess. i dunno. i know im being pretty picky but im also positive there is at least one some out there that will fit my purpose.

Check out the Mirror's Edge soundtrack on youtube, lot of long songs in there that are good for dramatic anything, futuristic sound though, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

The piece I selected comes from Mozart's Requiem in D Minor. It was the last piece that he wrote, and was supposedly unfinished at the time of his death. In general, I have looked at "death songs".

You might find Liszt's Totentanz, itself a revision of older "dances of death", interesting. Verdi's Requiem as directed by Toscanini is also pretty powerful.

I think the era of music you are looking for is the Romantic era of classical music. It is considered to have begun with Beethoven's 5th (worth listening in its entirety). But I think you are looking for something less recognizable.

Wagner's Das Rheingold, a ridiculously long opera, would probably be foreign to most ears. Aside from the snippet of "Ride of the Valkyries" in the infamous Apocalypse Now helicopter ride, I haven't heard much contemporary use of his sounds.
