I agree with Mooney on a lot of ideas, but I think at this point his paranoia and general combativeness has pushed him over to the fine line of mostly crazy- instead of crazy but pretty much right.
The whole interview is about an hour long and I like Mooney but he seems very resistant to making a point or having a conversation. He'll make a statement that sounds like a joke but then he'll put his hand up like it's a self-evident truth. There were times I laughed at what he was saying and times where I felt like he was being purposely obtuse. I couldn't tell if it was crazy obtuse or too cool for the room obtuse.
So they are talking about him on today's show and they are saying that there was a visual element to his appearance, and that he was just fucking with them the entire time. He said when he was leaving I guess that it was a great time and he wanted to do another appearance, and they are saying the same thing about him. Opie says, "He is a master button-pusher" in terms of how he talks, and he was basically entertaining himself by being obtuse. Anytime he was called out (and obviously you can't see on the radio), he would smile, point at the person who did it, and wink. So apparently it was not crazy obtuse or too cool for the room obtuse, it was winking eye obtuse.
